This cultural celebration honors the arrival of the Garifuna in 1832. Even though the Garifuna people have a sorrowful history, this occasion is observed with vibrant happy, and thrilling festivals. Dangriga, Belize organizes the majority of the Garifuna Settlement Day activities. Each year on November 19, the holiday is observed across Belize.
